When I called Norman Noble I told him I was leaving the Southern Baptist Convention.
His advice was to talk with Leon Gray at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo.
I took that advice, but was surprised at the way he responded. Expecting Bro Gray to be happy to hear of my decision, I was shocked to hear him challenge me with the question, “What do you think a church is?”
That led to a discussion that caused me much concern and forced me into the Scriptures.
