The purpose of the church is often obscured. Ask ten people what the church is for and you likely will get ten answers. Some might be duplicates, but most will not be Biblical.
Some think the reason for the existence of the church is for caring for the poor.
Some will tell you they think the job of the church is to help the community.
Some think the purpose of the church is evangelizing the world. And they would be warm.
Some think the church exists to carry out the Great Commission. And they are getting very warm.
But all of these answers miss the real mark.
The answer is found in Ephesians 3:21.
This is Paul’s benediction… ending to his prayer.
He never puts filler words in the Scripture!
His words are there under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
And they mean something!
Master Ministry 032 – The Real Purpose of the Church
Here is the conclusion of the Apostle Paul and of the Holy Spirit of God… hence we have God’s declaration of the purpose of the church.
There is an Every member choice that must be made.
The church is all about HIM.
There is a congregation standing in a godless world.
“In the church”
There is a continuation that we should be encouraged by.
“Throughout all ages, world without end”
Amen- So be it.
